Shine On

August 18, 2010

Having one statement piece really makes a room go from great to incredible. For me, I love statement light fixtures, especially those involving lots of bulbs. My love affair began when I saw this amazing chandelier in an old issue of Domino mag.

I just saw this fixture in the most recent catalog from Pottery Barn – I love that you can place the anchors wherever you like, creating numerous different looks!

I am obsessed with the look of this 100 bulb fixture, which is in the home of Will and Susan Brinson and was featured on Design*Sponge earlier this summer. Susan was actually a coworker of mine this summer and she explained to me how difficult this DIY project was. Their hard work definitely paid off – the lighting totally makes the room!

How gorgeous is this blown glass chandelier from Lindsey Adelman, featured in the hallway of Carrie and Big’s apartment in Sex and the City 2.

gorgeous! I love the pottery barn fixture that let’s you adjust anchors. I think a lot of homeowners (and renters!) tend to think of lighting as secondary or outdated.. but these pieces are proof of how you can update and completely redo the feel of a room with a new fixture.
